Description
High quality 2K acrylic primer with anti-corrosion additives. It is a perfect isolating primer for car repairs. Perfetly protects sanded bare steel and isolates difficult surfaces and putties from topcoats, preventing mapping effects. Ideal spreading and fast drying time allows primer to be applied wet on wet. Does not require sanding.
Advantages
- Very good anticorrosive protection. of steel surfaces.
- Strong adhesion to various substrates.
- Very good isolating properties.
- Short hardening time.
- Suitable for wet on wet application.
Substrates
Wet on Wet Acrylic Primer 3:1 can be applied over:
- Steel and aluminum after flatting and degreasing.
- Zinc coated steel and galvanized steel after flatting and degreasing. S
- anded glass polyester laminates (GFK/GRP). P
- olyester body fillers and putties
- Epoxy primers.
- Wash primers.
- Old coatings in good condition.

Use
For car repairs as an isolation primer for sanding or wet on wet application.

Mixing ratio by volume
Primer: 3
Hardener: 1
Thinner (black version): 35% for wet on wet, 15% for sanding.
Thinner (grey and white versions): 35% for wet on wet, 20% for sanding.
Mix thoroughly until a homogeneous consistency is obtained.

Spraying viscosity
Black version:
17÷18 seconds at 20°C thinner 35%
about 30 seconds at 20°C thinner 15%.
Grey and white versions:
17÷19 seconds at 20°C thinner 35%.
about 30 seconds at 20°C thinner 20%.

Pot life for the mixture
about 40 minutes at 20ºC

Number of layers
For wet on wet: 1,5 layers; about 30µm of dry layer.
For sanding: 1÷2 layers; about 50µm of dry layer.
RP gun parameters
Nozzle: 1,2÷1,6 mm; Pressure: 2,0-2,2 bar.
HVLP gun parameters
Nozzle: 1,3÷1,5 mm; Inlet pressure: 2,0 bar.

Flash off time
Between layers: about 5÷10 minutes
before applying solvent base system: approx. 20 minutes
before applying water base system: approx. 30 minutes
Flash off time depends on the temperature and the number of layers

Drying time
Drying time at 20°C:
Isolation primer /30÷50 µm/ ready for sanding ater 2÷3 hours.
Drying time at 60°C
Isolation primer /30÷50 µm/ ready for sanding after baking for about 15÷20 minutes and cooling down (approx. 1hour)
Temperatures below 20°C significantly increases the hardening time.

IR drying
Isolation primer /30-50 µm/ : 5÷7 minutes under short waves.
Primer for sending /50÷100 µm/: 8÷10 minutes under short waves.
Do not exceed 60oC.
Use as recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
Wait about 10 minutes before starting IR drying.

Dry sanding
Machine sanding: P360÷P500.
Manual sanding: P320÷P500.
Wet on wet does not require sanding

Wet sanding
Machine sanding: P600÷P1000.
Manual sanding: P800÷P1000.
Wet on wet does not require sanding

Further work
2K acrylic fillers can be directly over coated with:
