Description

High-quality 2-component epoxy primer with anti-corrosion additives designed specifically for use under Rangers 2K polyurethane protective coating. It perfectly protects steel surfaces from corrosion in the automotive repair process, while strengthening and prolonging the anti-corrosive effect of the Rangers protective coating. At high dilution, it can be applied using wet-on-wet technique.

Substrates

Rangers Anticorrosive Epoxy Primer 4:1 can be applied over:

  • Steel and aluminum after matting and degreasing.
  • Galvanized steel after matting and degreased.
  • Sanded polyester/glass laminates (GRP/GRP) and epoxy-glass.
  • Polyester and epoxy putties.
  • Old coatings in good condition after matting and degreasing.

Good surface preparation is essential to achieve the best repair results.

Application process

    For car repairs as a filling primer or isolation primer for sending or wet wet technique.

    Primer : 4
    Hardener : 1
    Thinner :
    – 15% as filling primer
    – 25% as grounding primer
    – 50% as wet on wet

    Stir thoroughly until achieving homogenous mixture.

    55 ÷ 60 seconds at 20°C for the filling version (at 15% thinner)
    35 ÷ 40 seconds at 20°C for the grounding version (at 25% thinner)

    Recommended layer thickness:
    • isolation primer: 50÷70µm dry film.

    HVLP gun parameters
    Nozzle: 1,5÷1,9 mm; Inlet pressure: 2,0 bar.

    Temperature lower than 20°C is extending hardening time.

    • Do not exceed recommended doses of the hardener!
    • The best repair results can be achieved at room temperature. The temperature in the body shop and the temperature of the product should be similar
    • When working with 2K products, it is recommended to use personal protection.

    • Clean the guns and equipment immediately after use.
    • The rooms should be well ventilated.
